Most of the Korean researches in Adapted Physical Activity(APA) have focused on the quantitative research. While the results of those have provided invaluable data, I realize that the results of quantitative research have some limitation of the in-depth understanding. Therefore we need an application of qualitative research to understand about various situations in APA. The purpose of this study was to investigate the trend of qualitative research in APA and to make suggestions for a desirable direction of qualitative research in Korea. As the result of this study, the articles used qualitative research methods have been increased in other countries. For example, 18.8% of articles in Adapted Physical Activity Quarterly(APAQ) have been written through the qualitative research method since 2000. However I rarely find the qualitative results in our APA researches. In conclusion, we can establish a new research method through the definite understanding of qualitative research, much more field experience and researchers' discussion.
