The purpose of this qualitative study was to describe the way kindergarten teachers interact with children through music activities. To conduct the study, data were obtained primarily through video recordings of children’s music activities. Microanalysis method was used to produce a wealth of detail information about a much smaller number of people and cases. In this study, therefore, the researcher intended to interpret the way teachers interact with children through music activities in kindergartens as they have experienced it in the past and are experiencing it in the present. The interpretations for this study were the meanings and natures in which kindergarten teachers interact with children through music activities. They were as follows: (a) songs as an effective communication medium, (b) the traditional way of teaching music activities, (c) a dynamic medium for active music activities, and (d) an integrated way of teaching music activities. This study will serve as a point of departure for continued dialogue and discussion focused on how to prepare teachers to meet the needs of young children through music activities.
