This study tries to understand the characteristics of university-run enterprises peculiar to Chinese society and to analyze the mode of the industry-university cooperation in China. The university-run enterprises are not only the important source of the university finances, but also play a great part for the development of the high-tech industry in China. Especially, the role of the science and technology-based university-run enterprises become increasingly important. The universities try to separate the university-run enterprises from their own self in order to avoid the risk from the direct control over them. they set up the holdings company, and have it independently manage the affiliated university-run enterprises. Although China is more late in the way of economic development than South Korea, She positively makes various kinds of attempts at industry-university cooperation, for example, the institutionalization and unification of the organization of industry-university cooperation, the activation of industry-university cooperation fund, the formation of the cluster for industry-university cooperation and the positive construction of science park lead by the universities, and so forth.
