This bibliography related to the March First Movement is limited to Englishlanguage primary sources. By primary sources, it is generally meant the material produced by people around the time of the event, such as letters, diaries, reports, minutes and photographs. The term can also refer to autobiographies, memoirs, and oral history projects, as these sources are based on recollections of that period by those who experienced the event. Most of the resources are related to the United States and Canada, but there are a small number of English-language materials from both England and Asia. The list is divided into five sections: (1) unpublished material; (2) printed materials dating from 1919 to 1921; (3) articles in periodicals from 1919 to 1920; (4) memoirs, autobiographies, and oral histories; and (5) newspaper articles from the year 1919. Thanks to a number of recent digitization projects, many of these primary sources are now available in digital form on the Internet and in various online databases.
