The purpose of this research is groping for the role of leisure? recreation for building personality which is consistent with sensitivity and reason harmoniously after looking around the importance of sensitivity in modern society. The sensitivity society means that the society is constituted by two important natures (sensitivity and reason) of human, while the real society enforce to reason immoderately. The relationship of reason and sensitivity is not mutual exclusive or subordinate. We would rather say that they are a mutual cooperate relationship because the sensitivity plays a important role in inference and deciding an idea, i.e. rational contemplation. The many problems in real society are aroused by emphasizing on only reason in the natures of human. So, we can say that the leisure? recreation for building personality which is consisted of the reason and sensitivity harmoniously is demanded. As a specific method, we have to build the following capabilities through the leisure education and recreation, ㆍSelf-awareness & Self-management ㆍSelf-motivating ㆍSocial skill based on empathy In my opinion, rearing sensitivity an4 reason through leisure? recreation is a very important trial for recovering personality and completing the education for the whole man which is ultimate purpose of education.
