This study has been performed to analyze technical aspects of counselling the aged living in welfare facilities. In this study, 12 college seniors majoring in Social Work were interviewed for their experiences on unforeseen disruptive situations in counselling the aged in the facilities. The results of the interview are as follows: 1. The elderly residents have significantly lower level of formal education, economic ability, and family support. Therefore the residents usually have less life desire but higher depressive emotion than home-living counterparts. 2. The residents generally welcome visitors but this atmosphere may abruptly turn out to be disinterests once they realize that the visitors are not beneficial. 3. Counselling may become more or less reliable by intervention of co-residents normally most conversations are performed in open place so that co-residents have free access to counselling. Finally in this study, it is proposed that preliminary meeting be arranged and planned upon agreements of resident representatives before any formal counselling takes place.
