The present study aims to explore ways to vitalize communication within military camps with a focus on the interaction of counselling, a major means of communication among the men in military organizations. For this aim, a survey was conducted to the subjects of male students enrolled in 3 universities located in the Jeollabuk province who got discharged from military service during the last 3 years.
The survey revealed that common troubles (including adaptation to military routines) encountered daily within military camps were the biggest issue of counselling for soldiers and they felt more satisfied with occasional counselling than with regular counselling. By characteristics of the units they belonged to, there was statistically significant difference in satisfaction with regular counselling by army and special features of the unit the command of which they were under. Statistically significant difference was also discovered in support within the military organization the command of which they were under. The more highly satisfied they were with counselling, the more satisfied they were with communication among soldiers and the higher the support from seniors and fellow comrades was.
It is therefore suggested for the military training centers to execute systematic instruction in order for superior officers to become more able to communicate with and counsel for subordinates in an effort to activate communication within a military organization. It is also solicited for officers, when commissioned, to try to create brighter and more vital culture in the military camps in an attempt to form bettered organizational culture with which soldiers can be fully satisfied and for which they demand.
