Even if the subject-predicate structure brings in a certain tone, it’s not a complete sentence, because the subject, the verb, the object , as trunk components of the sentence, still have no boundness, so it can’t be used to describe a complete event. But we can through different syntactic devices give these trunk components some proper boundedness, and make the meaning of the sentence complete. Semantically, a complete sentence has the semantic sentence stems – S,V,O, also has the additional semantic components that attaching to the S,V,O to modify, restrict or describe the V,C,O. Pragmatically, a complete sentence has a basic information structure - “Known information + Unknown information ”, and also has many additional information components that can ensure the sufficiency of the information content provided by the sentence stems – S,V,O. Syntactically, sentence stems and the additional components reflect on the surface structure through certain syntax rules, and the non sentence stems are the sentence-accomplishment elements, which can help the sentences stems to get full semantics.
