The formation of the North Korea-China’s military cooperation has initiated since November 1945. In an attempt to assist the Chinese revolution, the North Korean political forces provided China with weapons, strategic logistic materials and rear bases. Simultaneously, the Chinese Communist Party, in order to help ‘the Korean revolution,’ instructed Korean officers and soldiers based on Manchuria to enter North Korea. As the North Korea-China’s military cooperation has formed, the creation of the Korean People’s Army as well as the Chinese Civil War have set in.
Right after the liberation North Korean, youths have moved to Manchuria and joined the Northeastern Democratic Union Army. Regardless of Kim Il Sung’s commands, these young people joined the army in order to conduct ‘the Korean revolution’ in Manchuria. As well, the North Korean political forces dispatched a few special forces to Manchuria for backing the Chinese revolution. For the purpose of achieving two revolutions, North Korea and China decided to establish the military cooperation at the levels of party, military and government.
More than a half of North Korea’s Security Officer Camp(SOC) cadres acted as veterans of the Chinese revolution and returned. Also, the key forces of SOC were the units from Manchuria and they were commissioned to the task of ‘the Korean revolution.’ Meanwhile the Korean Volunteer Army in Manchuria was incorporated into the Northeastern Democratic Union Army with the mission of the Chinese revolution. Thus, the formation of the North Korea-China’s military cooperation was the origin of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Korean units entry to North Korea as well as the participation of the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army around the Korean War.
