This study is to compare and analyze the effects of core stabilizer exercise on strength balance of the low back muscles and balance of lumbar spine muscle activity using EMG technique in Weightlifter’s clean motion. Participants were divided into two groups : experimental and control group. The subjects were asked to participate in core stability exercises and specializing exercise of weightlifting or conventional training(weight training and specializing exercise of weightlifting) for 8 weeks. The subjects were tested on strength of the low back muscles and activity of lumbar spine muscles at the beginning and the end of the 8-week program. The result of this study were as follow. First, after core stability exercises and specializing exercise of weightlifting, there was significant improvements on strength balance of the low back muscles. Second, after core stability exercises and specializing exercise of weightlifting, there was no change on balance of lumbar spine muscle activity. However, there was significantly increased imbalance in L2, L5, and total lower back at 5th phase of clean motion after conventional training. These results suggest that core stability exercises and specializing exercise of weightlifting is more effective method to improve the strength balance of the low back muscles and balance of lumbar spine muscle activity during Weightlifter’s clean motion.
