This article focuses on one of formations of a sociological theory of modern man. To do this, this paper regards modern society as the world of diaspora, and looks into whether modern man in this milieu being called as a stranger or not. To put it starkly, the paper argues that modern man is able to consider modern man as a stranger, and to show the ground of it, this study pays attention two characteristics which modern man has: the pursuit of authenticity and anxiety. First, this paper is overlapping modern man who keeps his distance from many roles given the society to himself. Also, this paper emphasizes the fact that modern man is seized with anxiety because he is the man who got a free through the pursuit of his authenticity. More specifically, this paper attempts to portray modern man as a stranger through overlapping him with a stranger who has the same characteristics as well.
