This research consists in presenting Alain Badiou’s philosophy of truths. This philosophy proposes to reestablish the category of truth, and revolutionizes the philosophical system concerning the truth. Philosophy depends on four generic procedures—politics, art, science and love—of truths, which constitute the conditions of philosophy. These four procedures are not excluded from the others, they coexist as producing of the truth. Badiou rejects the position of the contemporary philosophy that is indifferent to the truth and satisfied with the meaning, and he argues that the category of truth is the key category of philosophy. In this context, Badiou distances his philosophy from the hermeneutics that concerns with the question of meaning. In conclusion, the purpose of this study is to find that Badiou’s theory of poetic truth is near the Hermeneutics, commonly pursuing the symbol of new humanity.
