This study aims to take a look into the expectation of the medical tourism of Korea and the thought about international medical tourism coordinators of immigrant married women professionals. These women are employed to companies related to medical tourism. Because medical tourism is expected to be " a new growth engine industry" all over the world and there are nearly a million international tourists who visit Korea for medical tourism.
In order to perform this study, a survey was conducted on 185 immigrant married women of medical tourism professionals in Seoul and Daejeon, who are either from China, Japan or Vietnam.
There were three results from this study. First, most medical tourism businesses cluster in Seoul, and moreover plastic surgery and dermatology clinics are more numerous than hospitals for patients. So balanced areas have to be selected through the cooperation of medical tourism companies, travel agencies, and medical tourism agencies. Second, in order to secure the latest information about medical tourism, sample surveys should be taken through interviews and questionnaires. Third, in order to provide medical services for foreigners, the professional training for marketing, interpretations, customer care services, program developments, and so on should be prepared.
