In this manuscript, expeditionary force organization of Sui Dynasty, army branch, and military strength of detached force was reviewed giving attention to fierce fight of Sui dynasty people who entered a war as primary Goguryo expeditionary force of Emperor Suiyangti in y612.
Formerly, Based on the report of Emperor Suiyangti, army of Sui Dynasty was considered to be organized as 30 troops with 24 troops and Chun-ja 6 troops. Besides these 30 troops, there was a possibility that Susungdo troop, Jungjido troop, Humdokdo troop, Gaemodo troop, Sinsungdo troop, Noryongdo troop engaged in warfare. Then, it was highly assumed that army of Sui Dynasty was organized with 40 troops not 30 troops. It was estimated that General army of Sui Dynasty consists of 25,000 servicemen in total (4,000 cavalrymen, 8,000 infantrymen, 13,000 Chijungyunggusanbyung), Chun-ja in total 35,000 servicemen (5,000 cavalrymen, 10,000 infantrymen, 20,000 Chijungyunggusanbyung). There seemed to be a naval force, Changhaedo troop, consisted of 70,000 service men in total with Susu 10,000, Nosu 30,000 and Baechansu 30,000.
Due to hard siege warfare, Emperor Suiyangti organized detached force. It was considered that each troop of detached force was given this new mission while they were marching to Goguryo departing separately from Nohajin or hoewonjin with different route, and tried to advance to Pyongyang castle after combining troops with same mission at west part of Aplok river. Though detached force was recorded that it consisted of 9 troops with 305,000 servicemen, including Sukshindo troop, Dapdon troop and Gaemodo troop, in total 12 troops seemed to be organized as this detached force in fact.
