The wooden coffin tomb in Yeongnam province is transformed from tombstyle which is estavlished in China central plains. To begin with, this wooden coffin tomb originate in the Northwestern Part of Korean Peninsula, look at bronze goods of excavated relics, become established in Hoseo and Honam region. It first of all came in upper-middle region of Nakdong river, inculding Sangju etc, with the particular shaped bronze which were transformed new style. This moved south along Nakdong river, and It is used in Daegu and Gyeongju. This is able to primary affect of the wooden coffin tomb culture, and maybe this tomb-style will be the wooden coffin with stones and exist the original wooden coffin. Since then tendency to community come into the secondary ripple effect of the wooden coffin tomb culture. At this time, there is used gradually the original wooden coffin.
These kind of wooden coffin tomb and relic seemed to be evidence which related the old Joseon emigration. The primary ripple effect which is excavated the particular shaped bronze and mixed the wooden coffin with stones is associated with king Jun’s south movement, the secondary ripple effect of the wooden coffin tomb culture which is mixed the Chin-Han culture in China is associated with emigration when happened at the fall of the old Joseon.
The small state of Gyeongju, ‘Saro(斯盧)’ is established at the second half of the 1st century B.C after the secondary ripple effect of the wooden coffin tomb culture. At first, emigration group who construct the wooden coffin tomb are located in the hills, they can’t extend. But as time goes on widen it’s influence through developed culture and interchange of northwestern area, after all this established culture is based. ‘Saro’ located at Gyeongju where is classified into the district of the six villages(六村). The power group of Gyeongju downtown where place at the northwest of Namsan mountain play a role as capital of ‘Saro’.
