This study tired to research the current use of mobile devices, which play important role in Smart-Learning, as well as to present suggestions to Smart-Learning English learning and teaching based on the results of the study. There were 313 university students who participated in this survey and 289 samples were selected from the original data. The questions asked in this survey focused on the use of ten mobile devices: laptop computers, netbook, smart phone, smart pad, MP3, portable game player, digital dictionary, e-book, PMP(portable multimedia players) and PDA (Personal Digital Assistance devices). The research findings could be summarized as follows. First, the smart phone proved to be the most popular device. Second, the number of participants owning two devices was larger than any other groups. Third, PC type devices, such as laptops or netbook, were most frequently used in English learning. Based on the results, this study presented two suggestions to boost the use of mobile devices in English learning: developing service to provide accurate contents to users and service focused on only-use devices. Thses suggestions would encourage the use of mobile devices in Smart-Learning English learning and teaching.
