Casino of today becomes the object for good use of leisure time simply beyond a concept of gamble. Las Vegas of America has evolved to a form of family-typed resort with addition of resort and entertainment, and recently, it has been developed to a form of resort complex with addition of convention, shopping mall and amusement park to family-typed casino resort. In the future, resort complex seems to appear as a new trend with addition of housing space and park to existing casino resort complex. However, studies from industrial aspect constitute the main stream in our country. In this study, survey was conducted on history and development process of casino resorts of Las Vegas of America with method of approach from interior spatial aspect, insight was taken into flow of behavioral spacel change of casino through time-based classification and consideration was taken on characteristic of casino resort complex with classification of patterns by stages of recent change. In addition, three kinds of patterns were found to be classified with deduced pattern and charateristic of interior space through analysis of examples. These are classified into patterns like labyrinth type of composition focused on leisure, mixed type of composition concentrated on leisure and amusement and intensive type of composition centrally on business, which drew a conclusion that casino resort should have facilities laid out different according to pattern and purpose. In future studies, suggestion will be made for the direction that composition of space should advance that Kangwon Land tends to by site visit to Las Vegas and reinforcement of examples with anlaysis of local examples of Kangwon Land.
