This study aimed at investigating that verbs have aspectual feature of [repeatability], and analyzing the characteristic of verbs that have [repeatability]. Aspect appears through grammatical aspect and lexical aspect with "different ways of viewing the internal temporal constituency of a situation".
[Repeatability] of verbs have not been discussed in lexical aspect so far, however it has been mainly discussed in repeatability in grammatical aspect. For example, in case of "dudeurida", the existing researches have classified it as a verb with [repeatability] feature, therefore, "dudeurida" was determined that when it is combined with "-go it-" that implies progressive aspect, "-go it-" shows repeatability instead of displaying progressive aspect since "dudeurida" has [punctuality] feature. However, this study pointed out that "-go it-" shows repetitive meaning instead of progressive meaning when it is combined with "dudeurida", because "dudeurida" has [repeatability] feature.
In order to know the specific property of verbs that have [repeatability] feature, this study investigated the phenomenon of verbs that have [repeatability] feature when they are especially combined with ‘-go it-’, ‘-daga malda’, and adverb phrase of time. Consequently, this study concluded that the verbs which have [repeatability] feature could be classified into the verb with [+consequence], [-consequence] feature.
This study has a significant meaning in that it could classify the exceptional situation that has not been stereotyped in verb classification along with the feature of the existing verb, and it could be a basis of grammatical study for further objective researches on the aspect of verbs.
