Oh-Jongdo Geosabi is set up with other stone monuments at the yard of Gangwha History Center, which is located at 1016 Gabgotli Gangwhagun Incheon Metropolitan City. This stone monument was erected in 1600 in order to recognize Oh-Jongdo's achievement, who occupied Gangwha Island with his navy during Imjin War. With the analysis of Eumgi, there are some facts discovered. Firstly, two thousand of Ming's navy under the command of Oh-Jongdo had stayed in Gangwha Island for 6~9 months by the time July in 1599, which was just after Imjin War. At that time Oh-Jongdo decreased the supply of food raised by residents of Gangwha Island over the Ming's navy. This was the main reason that Oh-Jongdo Geosabi was erected. Secondly, during Imjin War the recognition of ‘Jaejojieun’ was widely spread. The atmosphere of this recognition and the expansion of an award was the social background of Oh-Jongdo Geosabi's ercetion. Thirdly, as the relationship between Chung and Chosun was improved during 18th century the ill feeling against Chung was weakened and skepticism about ‘Daemyeongeuiriron’ was raised. Corresponding to this, Yu-Cheokgi and Lee- Euihyeon carved on the back of Oh-Jongdo Geosabi in Kangwha Island. This carving represents the will of the intelligentsia rooted in Noron. Fourthly, the Noron's intelligentsia carved Eumgi on Oh-Jongdo Geosabi because Oh-Jongdo Geosabi and Gangwha Island were symbolized of the hostile feeling against Chung. This feeling in Gangwha Island seems to have been stronger than any other places and have increased the hostility which had been weakened.
