Oversea Korean cultural centers play such an important role in improving national images, and as a public institution representing Korea, they are the nearest Korea to citizens in other countries of residence and really important organizations diffusing Korean culture and the Korean language at the same time. To improve national images and introduce the excellence of Korean culture around the world, therefore, it is necessary to analyze the roles and problems of oversea Korean cultural centers and develop various programs, further actively carrying out research on concrete directions for the interior design of oversea Korean cultural centers. Thus, this study aims to investigate the functions and roles of cultural centers in different countries and propose a direction for the interior design of oversea Korean cultural centers by analyzing their programs and interior design characteristics with brandscaping characteristic elements grafted so that oversea Korean cultural enters may fulfill their functions as a cultural promotion space in the process of interior design, which will increase in the near future.
Based on the analysis results on the programs of oversea Korean cultural centers and brandscaping characteristic elements, oversea Korean cultural centers should adjust the rate of locally-diverse programs and draw up measures for spacial activation, while creating a new interior space to show differentiated national images according to the brandscaping characteristic elements.
