Report Errors

Qi is the basis of the East Asian view of nature. The previous studies on qi have focused on the concepts and the history of thought. This study, based on the character of qi that can be institutionally understood, investigated the relation of qi and mind. qi, that presented itself in not the meaning but the way of speaking, can be interpreted as pose. Qi, even though can’t objectively apprehended, vividly present itself. The ancient Chinese culture, that regards essence as important, asked to grasp qi. Qi represent a movement of mind. However, qi is not just a symbol of mind. Qi is the movement of mind itself. Therefore, the relation of qi and mind is not causal relation. The analogy of root and flower was used the relation of mind and qi. Qi is often interpreted as material body. However, the qi as a pose is not material. Qi is the vitality which is in material body and the movement of mind itself.
