The goal of this research is fourfold: Firstly, to understand ritual theory through ritual elements, ritual behaviors, ritual functions, and ritual effects. Secondly, to catch hold of the relationship of worship and ritual by recognizing what ritualization of worship experience means. Thirdly, to be useful mechanism for a human being to understand a conversion process from public worship to life worship. Fourthly, to provide important clue in understanding the worship of korean church. Ritual means behavioral lifestyle to have ritual script, ritual role, ritual audience, and ritual artifacts a purpose of satisfying one`s desires or needs, divided a time and a space into state of the sacred and the profane. And ritual behavior makes external behavior such as procedure, a fixed form, repetition, and internal behavior such as symbolism, seriousness, commitment, and formality to accomplish social performance or individual performance. That is, ritual behavior means that it perform ritual characteristics of 7 types to accomplish expected benefits such as spiritual needs, self-preservation needs, and psycho-social needs. And then ritualization of worship experience is equal that worship experience of attendance type, participation type, and performance type is ritualized. That is, to be ritualized imply that worship experience move visitor to be ritualized. ritualization of worship experience explains public worship and life worship itself. In addiction, it is useful mechanism for a human being to understand a conversion process from public worship to life worship. Therefore, ritual theory provides pastoral insight in christian worship among practice theology as above.
