The aim of this article is to explore ecological liturgy to see how both liturgy and our ecological awareness can suggest a new paradigm for worship renewal in the 21st century. This attempt flows in two directions. On the one hand, it tries to provide a dialogue between liturgy and ecology, articulating some of the connections between the growing ecological movement and the still young liturgical renewal in the Korean churches. On the other hand, it tries to propose the foundation of ecological theology of liturgy with critical function of worship renewal with regard to the way creation is described and used in the present liturgy. There is a growing concern that Christian worship should be more inclusive of the non-human parts of the creation. This heightened awareness is, in no small part, related to the ecological crisis of our times. This ecological challenge invites the church to take seriously its role in the modern world. This ecological crisis in the natural environment has been an area of major ethical reflection since the second half of the twentieth. While the church has addressed theological concerns and ethical reflection centered on creation and the natural world in the 20th century, the present environmental challenge requires new theological research and commentary from the liturgical perspective. For the liturgy, which is a source of theology with personal belief as well as the foundation of shared belief, can be called the church`s first theology. The church should read the signs of the times and interpret them in light of God`s people of the collective work of all of life`s creatures and created things. This article is based on the fundamental premise that what we do in worship should have a profound effect on all the other areas of our lives and a deeper awareness of ecological issues has valuable links to a better liturgical practice. We live with the wider theme of liturgy and creation. The central question we try to answer is how our worship and our theology of liturgy relate to the creation and the use of creation in worship. Our answer calls the church to pay careful attention to the creation motif existent in the liturgical texts. This means having a positive regard for the things of this earth because they are used in our worship. It is here that constructive theology must be done and its consequence made incarnate in liturgical expression. This need enables us to highlight the directions of current worship renewal, to note some of challenges of the renewal yet to be criticized, and to suggest a direction for the further renewal of our liturgy. The first section of this article tells us that very little is presently happening to bring liturgies and ecology together. Section 2 draws a new liturgical method with critical function of liturgy from the ecological perspective that it can establish the foundation of ecological of liturgy. Section 3 applies the critical method to our liturgical texts as a new paradigm for implementing ecological liturgy at worship renewal areas.
