The purpose of this study was to determine the difference of acute exposure hypoxia and normoxia on anaerobic power and blood lactate concentration. 10 male subjects(age : 19.80±1.22 yrs ; weight : 71.96±6.63 kg ; height : 177.14±5.28 cm) performed two types of exercises classified as the hypoxia(percental composition one liter-og air(14.5% 0₂)) and normoxia(20.9% O₂). Anaerobic power variable during exercise was obtained using cycle ergometer. Anaerobic power was calculated by tenth time 5-s force-velocity and 40-s maximal cycle exercise performance at hypoxia and normoxia. Furthermore, lactate concentration were obtained through blood sampling. The conclusion derived from statistical analysis were as follow : There was no significant difference in anaerobic power between hypoxia and normoxia exercise. No significant difference was found between hypoxia and normoxia exercise in peak rpm and tenth time force-velocity, while there was a significant difference in 40-s maximal cycle exercise performance(p<.05). The blood lactate concentration showed no significant difference between hypoxia and normoxia exercise in resting, 5-s force-velocity and 40-s maximal cycle exercise performance. In conclusion, this study shows that anaerobic performance may be not altered at the altitude of 3,000m(14.5% 0₂).
