Three significant facts are noticeable from the “Garden Poem” written by WangJi. First, myriad number of contents that describes the landscape of forest and introduces natural object were found in the “Garden Poems” as the author resided in the forest cabin himself. Second, the literature introduced plentiful explanations of the view on artificially built pond and rocky mountain as well as all the plants that were in harmony with others. Thus, Pastoral poems was a piece that narrates the sincere feeling of natural countryside sceneries, whereas “Garden Poem” represents the impression of manmade landscapes and the process of making one. Last but not least, there is a distinct difference in the basis of literatures’ topic and expression. WangJi’s “Garden Poems” rather talked about how author spent time in the artificially made environment missing an old friend from distance or lamenting one’s misfortune as a topic than talking about the attachment to the nature itself.
