The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of vibration on inflammatory, muscular damage markers during resistance training of various intensities (1RM 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%).
We measured inflammatory markers (CRP, WBC), muscular damage markers (CPK, LDH), from thirty five men in their twenties with experience of resistance training under six months. We carried out three-way repeated ANOVA on measured variables.
The results of inflammatory markers showed that the changes in CRP were higher after the training than in stable condition, and lower in 24 hours of recovery than after the training, regardless of exercise intensities and vibration. The changes in WBC were higher after the training than in stable condition, and lower in 24 hours of recovery than after the training, regardless of exercise intensities and vibration.
The results of muscular damage markers showed that the changes in CPK were higher after the training than in stable condition, and lower in 24 hours of recovery than after the training, regardless of exercise intensities and vibration. In addition, these changes were higher in no vibration than vibration group both after the training and in stable condition. The changes in LDH were higher after the training than in stable condition, and lower in 24 hours of recovery than after the training, regardless of exercise intensities and vibration. These changes were also higher in no vibration than vibration group both after the training and in stable condition.
However, vibration does not seem to have significant effects on the inflammatory markers and differences among exercise intensities.
Although not significant, rates of change in inflammatory or muscular damage markers tended to be low. As vibration exercise have the same effects as warm-up exercise increasing muscular temperature. This study provides information on the effective exercise method and exercise prescription for beginners of resistance exercise to minimize the negative effect.
