The main purpose of the present study is to develop a measure of children`s ballet service quality (CBSQ) scale by identifying underlying factors and testing external validities of the scale. Respondents of this study consists of 631 parents whose children were participating a ballet program. Through a series of confirmatory factor analyses, this study confirmed that the children`s ballet service quality scale produced reliable and consistent factorial structures. The results supported the construct validity of the scale. Two analyses are undertaken to determine whether the CBSQ scale is a measure of a redundant measure of an existing construct. First, the present study tests convergent validity that the CBSQ scale was correlated with measures of individual differences, which should be correlated with. The CBSQ scale shows significant correlations with customer satisfaction and customer loyalty, suggesting the CBSQ scale has convergent validity. Second, this study then assesses discriminant validity that the CBSQ scale yields measurements that are statistically distinguishable from individual differences (i.e., customer satisfaction and customer loyalty). Through discriminant validity test, the present study verifies that CBSQ scale is not redundantly measure any of individual difference constructs and is statistically distinguishable from the closely correlated constructs. In conclusion, the present study represents an initial step toward developing and testing a new scale to measure children`s ballet service quality.
