the purpose of this study was to find out determinant factors related to academic aspiration of the college students majoring in dance. Research hypotheses and casual model were based on the previous studies and theories. Personal attributes, majors, significant others` encouragements and interests, motivation of dance participation, academic and dance achievement were set as independent variables, educational aspiration as a dependent variable. The sample were collected from 343 universities students who were majoring in dance in Seoul, Daejon, and Chungnam by using a purposive sampling method. Data were collected through the questionnaire that was used after testing validity and reliability through pilot study. Correlation analysis, ANOVA analysis, regression analysis method were used in order to test hypotheses. Each hypothesis was tested at the signigicant level of .05. On the basis of the results analysed, the conclusions were drawn as followings; 1. Students who lived in urban areas have much higher academic aspiration rather than those who lived in rural areas. 2. There were no signifiant differences of academic aspiration among students majoring in korean dance, ballet, and modern dance 3. Mother`s encouragements and interests have positive influence on academic aspiration. 4. Intrinsic motivation and identification motivation have a positive influence on education aspiration, but introjection motivation influences negatively. 5. Academic achievement is significant in education aspiration. 6. The higher education expectation of parents, The higher academic aspiration of the students.
