It was the purpose of this study to inspect the personality of the dance major students and general students of girl`s high school and obtain the effective data for the dance instruction with high school girls as the central figure. Subject for the study were 240 dance majoring students (86 in Korean dance, 69 in Ballet and 85 in Modern dance) and 235 general students from Pusan Arts High School and Girl`s High Schools in Pusan. The total were 475 students. The personality were tested by chung, Bum Mo`s test papers. The collected date were analysed by personality traits, majoring areas and career practiced between the dance majoring students and the general students. The comparison of personality traits between the dance majoring students and the general students and between career practiced was analyzed by t-test. The comparison of personality traits between majoring areas was analyzed by oneway ANOVA analysis and Duncan test The main findings of this study were as follows ; 1. The dance majoring students showed more highly(p$lt;.001) in activity, dominance, objectivity. 2. The personality traits of dance majoring students between maj areas only showed difference(P$lt;.05) in dominance. But the students in Korean dance showed relatively more lower in dominance, sociability and objectivity, and the students in Ballet more lower in emotional stability. And the students in n dance showed mere highly in dominance, sociability and objectivity than others and they also showed more highly in impulsiveness and emotional stability. 3. The longer career group than 4 years showed difference(p$lt;.05) in masculinity but highly in sociability and objectivity.
