This study aims at examining symbol and transcendence. The symbolic animals which were considered especially appeared in the birth folk tales of hero and heroine. The writer interpreted the meaning of conventional symbol in Hwajin and Namchaebong’s birth folk tales through the contents of a letter and various reference books and connected to the personality of characters. And it was confirmed how symbolism of birth folk tales was realized and appeared transcendence on the process of it.
On the basis of this, it was verified that transcendental world of 「Chang Sun Garn Ui Rok」 contribute on reinforcing Confucianism that hero and heroine experienced. It was confirmed that the hero and heroine aimed for Confucianism that was supported by transcendental world and Confucianism spread by the other characters’ support for hero and heroine.
On the basis of this, it was verified that transcendental world of 「Chang Sun Garn Ui Rok」 contribute on reinforcing Confucianism that hero and heroine experienced. It was confirmed that the hero and heroine aimed for Confucianism that was supported by transcendental world and Confucianism spread by the other characters’ support for hero and heroine.
