The purpose of this paper is to develop an objective vocational function screen test to aid job-seekers with disabilities choose appropriate employment service. We depicted factors and items from previous vocational assessment researches and screen tests from foreign countries to develop the EDI vocational function screen test. A questionnaire including the factors and items were distributed to 21 vocational rehabilitation specialists three times using the Delphi method. As a result, 29 items were selected for the EDI vocational function screen test. The five function and items are independent living(4 items), physical function(6 items), cognitive function(7 items), social function(7 items) and vocational function(5 items). Each factor has a reliability of .65, .66, .73, .77, .83 respectively. The total reliability of items are .90.
A pilot test for the EDI vocational function screen test was conducted amongst 619 workers with disabilities. The pilot test was conducted depending on the type of disability, type of employment service and type of workplace. Based on the pilot test, the exploratory factor analysis was conducted. As a result, EDI vocational function screen test was divided into two areas - physical and mental. The physical area consists of independent living function, movement function and language function. The mental area consists of vocational function, cognitive function and social function. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis show that the analysis model of the physical area show that the items in the independent living function had a low explanatory function thus only the GFI received above 0.9. However, the item is an important factor of the vocational area for people with disabilities, therefore the analysis model was selected as appropriate. The analysis model of the mental area showed CFI, NFI, IFI as higher than .9. Also RMR and RMSEA analysis model showed that it was adequate. After analyzing the EDI vocational function screen test factors" reliability, it showed that independent living function is .80, movement function .76, and language function .74, for the physical area. The vocational function was .93, cognitive function .91, social function .85 for the mental area which illustrates the reliability and validity of the analysis model.
After analyzing whether the EDI vocational function screen test differs according to the type and degree of disability, type of employment service and type of workplace, we found that there was a meaningful difference regarding the above factors. This shows that the EDI vocational function screen test helps job seekers with disabilities find employment service and workplace in accordance with their vocational level. In addition, when we applied the discriminant analysis, the degree of disability, type of employment service and type of workplace also had a significant difference regarding the above factors. Finally, proposal to standardize the EDI vocational unction screen test was provided for future research.
