The purpose of this study is to develop an advanced vocational function screening test in order to choose appropriate employment services for job seekers with disabilities. The previous EDI vocational function screening test (developed in 2008) is composed of two sectors－physical and mental－with six factors of vocational function including 29 questions. However, norms and a manual for the test are yet to be developed. It is also for this purpose－the creation of a set of norms and a manual－that this study has been undertaken.
Surveys of vocational function screening have been completed by 2,701 people with disabilities. In all, 1,186 disabled workers of regular companies, 929 disabled workers under protected employment and 586 beneficiaries of welfare service are included. In addition, a comparison of subjective and objective weighting methods has been made to select the appropriate criteria for the test. A resultant objective weighting method utilizing regression coefficients best distinguishes those above-mentioned groups. Also, pilot tests have been carried out by three vocational competency evaluators and their results showed a need for the test to be adjusted and proper supports for the test need to be provided according to type and characteristics of disability, when applied.
