The purpose of study was to reexamine the role of affect and creativity in the young children"s play. Recently there were considered more cognitive aspects than affective aspects of young children"s play in the numerous studies. However, we already recognized that young children showed the affect-laden play. That is, young children expressed various affects in every play. Therefore, this study considered some aspects from the review of studies of play related creativity and/ or affect. Children"s play is important because play is the arena in which children express two of the affective processes thought to be important in creativity-affect laden thoughts and affect states. The affect-laden plays of young children have significant some functions of cartarasis. Affect expression in the play are actual experiencing and expression of feeling states and affective content themes in fantasy production such as aggression, fear, and pleasure, and cognitive integration and modulation of affective material. It is probable that the working through process helps cognitive structure functioning in a variety of affect-laden play areas. In this way, how children handle affect partially determine creativity.
