This research was conducted for the purpose of studying the quality of Kumdo master experience by Kumdo School master. For the research, the focus group interview was done on 2 masters from 2 Kumdo school. The Kumdo master went to the same S-high school and Y-university as the researcher and was an athlete in the team, another master is from the same S-high school and served as a team member athlete but went to K-university and is coaching at that university. The coaching experience is less than one year.
As for the research, the focus group interview, non participant observation and document analysis were conducted and analyzed through inductive content analysis. The suggestion and conclusion are as follows;
First of all, in order for a Kumdo student to become a master, the research subject needs to have a Kumdo skill, show effort, study, and record and acquire professional knowledge.
Secondly, the Kumdo master needs to bo differentiated from school sports unit by putting importance on the interest, basic skill, basic education and manner.
Thirdly, the Kumdo masters emphasized the terms courtesy and humbleness.
Fourth, the Kumdo masters realized that unlike school sports department, the coaching experience brought change in speaking, on developing program and in the behavior as the leader.
Fifth, as the member of social education, the coaches experienced passion, worthiness and sense of accomplishment about Kumdo as they encouraged and improved the health of the students, which is far greater than a material reward.
Sixth, it has been found that the Kumdo-school masters are in fragile situation because of their low pay, unstableness of the job and low acknowledgement by the society.
