This study aims to examine the current condition of infrastructure and development density within urban developed area, and by doing so, to provide basic data for seeking appropriate method to manage the development density based on infrastructure. For this, theological literature study on development density and infrastructure, expert questionnaire survey using Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) for density weight were carried out. In the next step, current situation of development density and infrastructure of Cheongju city were examined, and four standard case areas based on zoning were analyzed in detail. Lastly, the major findings on development density and some meaningful suggestions were extracted Considering the continuous discussion about compact city or over-densely development, this study can contribute to make strong foundation of related urban study and broaden the horizon of academic field by devising theological and practical approach for development density management techniques.
