This study is based on the experience of setting up and teaching Interview Chinese as a second language course of a Korean university curriculum, and focuses on following three primary aspects as a brand new language. Firstly, the researcher attempted to present the needs of the students and their linguistic and cultural background. They were perceived to have influenced directly the setting, disposal and instruction of the topic under studying. Secondly, a comparison of the Interview Chinese with generic Chinese oral lessons revealed specific traits during the process of designing and on the spot teaching. In addition, the research paper tried to pinpoint concrete contents, guidelines and ultimate goals to highlight its set of characteristics. Thirdly, the study confirmed that combination of listening, reading, writing and reproduction of job application facilitated the interaction between the teachers and the students. Furthermore, these teaching methodologies were found to be effective in ensuring the successful delivery of Chinese oral lessons. Recommendations on the compilation of teaching materials were given at the end of the study.
