This paper analyses the effects of the regional financial institution structure of Daegu·Gyungbuk on the economic growth by the Panel and multiple regression analysis. In the 1st step analysis, we look at the general relationship between regional financial institution structure and total factor of productivity. The results show that most of financial variables are statistically significant in explaining the total factor of productivity variation, so financial institutions affect on efficiency in regional productivity. In the 2nd step analysis, we look at the general relationship between regional financial institution structure and regional economic growth. The results show that most of financial variables are statistically significant in explaining the gross regional domestic product variation, but the effects are different between Metropolitan areas and Daegu-Gyungbuk areas. Finally, we look at the relationship between regional financial institution structure and regional growth by separating before IMF and after IMF. Before IMF, the results show that non-bank loans are statically significant in explaining the gross regional domestic product variation, but the bank loans are not. However the results are opposite after IMF. Because of restructuring regional finance, non-bank's role has been reduced. So, we need to consider regional small financial institution to increase the role of regional finance
