As Jan de Vries and many fairy tales researchers asserted the㎳elves, many motives in the fairy tales are adopted from legend or myths. For this reason man might say that Myths or legend is an older genre than the fairy tale.
The doleful destiny of the Snow-white has resemblance to that of "Richilde" in the story of Musaede. The author of this work made it his business to find out the distinction as well as the existence of affinity by comparing "Richilde"-the figure of Musaeus-with the "Snow-whites-the figure of brother Grimm. He also tried to investigate the "Snow-white" with simplification and variation.
The figure of myth, "Richilde" was superposed, on that of fairy tale "Snow-white" and replaced. This will lead back to the reference of reality and an easier structure to the short form of fairy tales opposite to the longer form of myths.
As we know, the myths include many elements of historical events, while the story of fairy tales is mainly based on the fantastic events. Many events in myths "Richilde", for example Brabant's participating in the crusade and his death for Pest in Syria show the historical reference concretely. Many familiar and private stories also have elements stemming from historical events. For instance a descendant of jewish doctor Sambul is told to become a faithful consultor of king of Morocco and many descendants still raise the authenticity of this story for the readers.
