The aim of this study is to look into the values pursued by consumers and figure out what relationship there is between spectatorship value and absorption experience of respective spectators by comparing the tendencies of spectators who watch dances. In other words, the purpose is to expand cultural spheres and suggest some data for forming a consensus people can share and participate in by looking into the relationship between spectators tendency and absorption and spectatorship value in dance performances, by coming up with plans for the popularization of dancing, and by providing spectators with better quality pieces of dancing works.
The population of the study were the inhabitants in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do as of 2010 and spectators who attended dancing events once and more a year. The samples of 583 were finally selected, exclusive of a number of data that seemed to be untrustworthily-responded and contents-omitted among the collected 600.
The data gathered according to research procedure were encoded according to coding guideline. Inputting the coded data individually into computer, the researcher inspected the data through descriptive statistics analysis, standard multiple regression analysis according to analytical purpose by using the statistics program SPSS 17.0 version for Windows.
Based on the above research method and data analysis findings, the conclusions are as follows:
First, there was some relationship between spectators tendency and absorption in dance performances.
Second, there was some relationship between spectators tendency and spectatorship value in dance performances.
