The objectives of this study were to analyze female golf course caddies’ organizational commitment and turnover intention according to socio?demographic characteristics age, length of service, and turnover experience and to provide basic materials for enhancing the performance of organization. For this study, we distributed a total of 350 questionnaires among female caddies sampled through purposive sampling from membership?based golf courses in Gangwon?do during the period from the 1<SUP>st</SUP> to 30<SUP>th</SUP> of April, 2010. Excluding those answered inadequately or not answered, we used a total of 276 questionnaires in the analysis. Results from these analyses are as follows.
First, female golf course caddies’ working condition, welfare, job satisfaction, education and training, and responsibility for family dependents were significantly different according to age. That is, they were all dissatisfied with working condition and welfare, and the dissatisfaction was higher in those in their 20s than in those in their 30s. Compared to those in their 20s, those in their 30s showed higher job satisfaction and higher responsibility for family dependents. However, satisfaction with education and training was higher in those in their 20s.
Second, female golf course caddies were all dissatisfied with working condition and welfare regardless of their length of service, and those who had worked for over 5 years showed the lowest satisfaction and highest responsibility for family dependents. Moreover, those who had worked for less than 3 years showed the highest satisfaction with education and training and the highest normative commitment, namely, a sense of duty to remain in the organization.
Third, caddies without turnover experience showed high job satisfaction.
