此文章是筆者對於時代精神的苦惱而作的. 筆者把時代精神?不認爲價値中立的事實, 因爲啓導時代的精神裏儒家哲學者的價値判斷與知性的指向性之故. 當代心學者應向多方面來表現時代精神, ?且其課題亦多樣又豊富. 筆者在此文章, 以三個主題來表現現代陽明學者應表現的課題. 其中一個是從心卽理而導出的, ?一個主題是與工夫論有關, 最後的主題是關於應用倫理的. 第一主題是在於多元主義社會如何疏通的問題. 筆者以‘心卽理’與‘恕’爲中心, 提出互相肯定的疏通方式與態度. 第二主題是在陽明哲學, 如何再設定『大學』之格物致知的問題. 第三問題是天地萬物一體思想的現代化. 天地萬物一體是儒家哲學的終極境界, 亦是每儒者皆肯定的世界觀, 而其中陽明哲學者特別强調此觀念. 在現代哲學, 天地萬物以‘生命’與‘自然’爲兩大主題,倫理亦從此兩大領域擴張應用. 但對此問題, 陽明哲學的基本立場還未決定.?且判斷每此事案的基本倫理形式亦還不在.
