The aim of this article is to investigate cultures of everyday life concerning to traditional medicines through the case of business rights of Daegu yangnyongshi(藥令市). Daegu yangnyongshi is the major traditional herb medicine Market, handed down for 350 years after being established in Chosun Dynasty Hyojong 9th (l658).
The major business rights of Daegu yangnyongshi(藥令市) is Hanyakbang(韓醫房), Hanuiwon(韓醫院), Yakupsa(藥業社), JetnagㆍJewhanwon(濟湯ㆍ製丸院) etc.. Hanyakbang is a shop to sell retail with mixing various Hanyaks(韓藥) on the basis of the recipe by Hanyakupsa(韓藥業士). Hanuiwon is an office to examine a patient and to administer medicines, Chim(鍼), Dum(灸, firing a mug wort), Buhang(附缸) etc., and to sell retail with mixing various Hanyakss(韓藥) by Hanuisa(韓醫師) on the basis of the recipe. Yakupsa is a wholesale shop to sell various Korean and oversea herb medicines to retail shops(HanyakbangㆍHanuiwonㆍgeneral consumers) and Hangbang hospitals, herb medicine factories. JetnagㆍJewhanwon is a small factory to process medicinal stuffs as Tang(湯) and Whan(丸) at the request of a client(HanyakupsasㆍHanuisasㆍcustomers).
This business rights of Daegu yangnyongshi is the result of elimination and inclusion among members of traditional medicines concerning to medicine policy throughout a long periods. And they have created special cultures of everyday life concerning to traditional medicines and handed down it for a long time. We must plan the ideas of conservation and succession the cultures of everyday life concerning to traditional medicines.
