"Bungeisidai" is a father of Shinkangakuha, but it is not the organ paper of Shinkangakuha. From the viewpoint of Kawabata Yasunari, however, it is better to see "Bungeisidai" as the organ paper of Shinkangakuha", because as a member of Shinkangakuha he considers "Bungeisidai" as the organ paper of Shinkangakuha and plays an active part in this magazine.
For Kawabata, he can get out of his spiritual illness, orpanage feelings, by keeping heart-to-heart company in this period of "Bungeisidai". Also in this period. his humanity can grow through heartbreaking failure of love with Eto Hazyowa. Moreover he can begin to grow as Novel Prize Winner by taking an important part in "Bungeisidai" as a rising writer, and establish his position as a keen critic firmly.
In other words, Shinkangakuha and its father, "Bungeisidai" help him act to the best of his ability in his life and literature. In addition to his numerous masterpieces. Kawabata contributes so much to Shinkangakuha and "Bungeisidai" which leave unerasable footprints in the literary history of Japan that he can perform great services in Japanese literature.
