The purpose of this study is to discuss why and how we could have application to urban and architectural researches from the perspective of complexity research methodology. This study explicated that city and architecture have the complexity characteristics through the reconsideration of Lewin's Field theory using system dynamics concept, and that the urban and architectural researches could be extended and evolved by the application of the complexity research methods. So, the researches on the city and architecture as complexity systems are needed as follows. First, it should uncover the emergence phenomena of city and architecture. Second, a mechanism of the emergence should be discovered. And finally, the efforts to integrate the complexity researches with urban and architectural design are necessary. There is the meaning in this study that provide an opportunity for an in more depth discussion of complexity research in urban and architectural discipline.
