Chosun government dispatched a mission of 'Swe-Hwan-Sa' three times from 1607 in justification of sending back its people who got napped at Japanese invasion in 1592, and urged Chosun people who were arrested by Japan's ruling power and advised them to come back to Chosun. However, Chosun government might be busy to rebuild up the nation from the ruins caused by the war. There was no detailed settlement program for people who came back to Chosun. That is, Chosun people's repatriation activity by the mission seemed to be significant, If so, Chosun government seemed to try to stress a demonstrative intention of denouncing Japan's invasion inversely through the repatriation activity.
The recognition Chosun's ruling power on these captives was 'the person who lost fidelity'. Therefore, scholars who came back to Chosun lived in secret without thinking the intention of securing the government position unlike the middle class people who secured the translator job. In addition, humble people and captives who didn't remember their family or didn't have no connection with the family became servants by the noble family, or became soldiers by the government. Sailors who were captives were excluded in the ambassador trip organization because they were classified as the dangerous person who was likely to do Pro-Japanese activity. The recognition and treatment on repatriated Chosun people was delivered to captives who resided in Japan, so they hesitated to come back to Chosun and lived in Japan.
The first generation of captive who remained in Japan seems to become generally Japanese people's servants. Nevertheless, captives in Kyushu area attempted to overcome their misery actuality through embracing Christianity. Besides, small number of descendants of the captives who secured the warrior class or technician class expressed their pride in the descendant of Chosun through 'Yu-Seo-Seo'.
It has been already known that Dong-Hyang-Mu-Deok (Doge Sigenori) who was a diplomatic adviser at the end of Pacific War was the descendant of the captive. However, the fact that 'Nae-Mok-Hee-Jeon (Noki Maresuke)' who became Japan's hero by committing suicide because of a death of Meiji emperor after beating the Russian army was the 8th descendant of the captive was hidden. Even though the captive 'Lee, Mun-jang' who was escorted to Chosun government as anti-government official could compete with 'Gang-Hang' who granted a chance to separate 'Jujahak' from Japanese Buddhism and could give a big influence on Japanese culture circles, it hasn't been well known. An exploration and study about such captive is expected.
