On May 436, Korean(高句麗) troop stood face to face with Northern Wei's(北魏) for occupying Hwaryong(和龍城-The capital of Nothern Yan). Kogury? entered into the city and seized control of the place first. Kogury? plundered the town and armory. Without delaying, they withdrew toward east captured the Emperor(馮弘) and people of Northern Yan(北燕).
At that time, the two armies were in very imminent situation, there were no direct battle. After all Northern Wei gave up chasing and turned back. As a result of the situation, the high-ranking officials, generals and people were brought in Kogury? society.
After 436, the tension between Kogury? and Northern Wei has continued. When competing states differ in strength, the weak one feels the burden of another possible conflict. A macrobian King(長壽王) of Kogury? killed Emperor Feng to remove possibility of surprising attack by Northern Wei.
On 476, Empress Feng(馮太后) killed the Emperor(獻文帝) with poison, she finally seize power in Northern Wei. She is a granddaughter of the Emperor of Nothern Yan. However she take advantage of the affair ended tragically in Kogury?, It is feigned motion for hers enemy in the Wei court that Empress Feng couldn't get rid of her hatred for the korean King.
