The purpose of this study is to accentuate the importance of cooperation of home with church for young childhood education.
Home is the basic and the most important educational field for young children and parent are the first and the most influential teachers. Especially, religious education of children is the essential function of home that God has prescribed to Israel as the "Shema"(Deut. 6:4-9) shows it. Church also is the God's family in that God's children should be nurtured according to His Words. It means that church and home should be related closely together in education for their children.
The ways of cooperation of church and parent could be classified as two parts: parent education and parent participation in educational program.
The education for parent offers them knowledges, informations and technical helps for nurturing children through seminars, lectures, study-groups for parent etc. Its content focuses above all on the identity of parent as Christian, on the christian parenthood, on modelling of christian lifestyle, and on parent as companions for faith development of their children and so on.
In addition, parent could participate actively in educational programs with teachers and children. They could play roles as educational resources, as teaching partners and supporters for learning programs in the church school.
Besides the church and the home could plan together certain programs for church seasons' festivals, like Ester, Thanksgivingparty, Advent, Christmas, etc.
Parents could also build a self-help and mutual support group, through which they could exchange their informations and experiences about nurturing children.
Before everything, the close interaction between parent and teachers is of great value for young children. Through telephone, newspaper, on-line etc. parent could share opinions about children with teachers. Visiting home by teachers or visiting teachers by parent are the best chances to know the real educational environment of children concretely.
Therefore the cooperation of home with church is essence and necessity for Christian Education for young children.
