The Yangban classes in the Chosun dynasty formed an interchange network of a complicated and multi-layed structure by blood, locality and scholastic bond, which gave away various information of the capital city to provinces. Lee, Mun-Gun, who witnessed the decline of his family through 'Gimyosahwa' and 'Eulsasahwa', had lived in Sungju as an exile for about 20 years. In order for his pardon and rehabilitation and for the maintenance and restoration of his family, he applied himself to educate his descendants such as grand daughters and his brother's grand sons, etc., and to maintain economic basis and to make fortunes, so that he could construct a hometown building in Goesan. Through his personnel interchange network established by his own growth and his social activity, he adapted to new environment. Keeping in touch not only with his relatives, but also his colleagues, he received information and economic support from the central government. Through the good offices of them, Lee, Mun-Gun has been known to be a person who could be close to those powerful men from the central government and to be a man of learning despite of his exile and his living far away from the central government. Through interchange with local noble families, especially with Dongsung noble family, in Sungju area, Lee, Mun-Gun developed a lot of projects, of which one was the seowon construction project. Along with the development of Taoist Metaphysics, Lee families whose origin were Sungju including Lee, Mun-Gun, developed from the stage of refurbishing the existing Buddhist temples into their family shrine to the stage of newly constructing seowons, education institutes of Confucianism, in order to praise their ancestors in the atmosphere .of the age where seowons were constructed by the salim. Thus, following the example of Baikwoondong seowon, the construction of seowon that praised governor Noh, Kyoung-Rin and the ancestor of Sungju origin Lee families as province gods was promoted. In this process, a long debate among Lee Hwang, Noh Kyoung Rin and Hwang Jun-Ryang was going on. Lee Hwang wrote and sent 'YoungBongSeowongi' but a Lee Jo-Nyun's portrait with a rosary received complains. After all, salim' repulsion removed Sungju origin Lee families from the project. In this process, Lee Mun-Gun was very disappointed to see the tendency to praise not to province gods but only to Taoism. This means that Lee Mun-Gun's origin was from the Hoongus, whose philosophy was different from Taoist tendency of the newly rising salim. Thus, Lee Mun-Gun's experiment by means of individual human network and local particularity was retreated by the insistence of the salim who wanted to establish seowons for the purpose of Taoism education place, which was a reflection of the changing period then. However, it could be said that his endeavor and roll, in the period ethos of seowon construction, was done by his human interchange network established through his life and by his recognition among local officials in Sungju area and among local salim.
