?iryesangj?ngso(儀禮詳定所) was built in 1402, Suceeding to Choryesangj?ngdogam(條例詳定都監) in 1399. ?iryesangj?ngso had a duty of codification and device of ?irye(儀禮). But this institution was abolished no longer than one year. It may be caused that Haryun(河崙), who is presumed as the head, had to went to China for settle a diplomatic dispute between Chos?n and China.
?iryesangj?ngso was rebuilt in 1410, and Haryun was charged in again. New ?iryesangj?ngso carried out only device of ?irye. But Haryun took charge both of codification and device of ?irye. Because law and ?irye had to be made in the same principles.
After 1414, when ?ij?ngbu(議政府) was deprived of a right of legislation, ?iryesangj?ngso became busy. Because device of ?irye for nation is beyond ability of officer in Yejo(禮曹). ?iryesangj?ngso took a part of council of Yejo. Gradually, ?iryesangj?ngso acted as consultant of all parts of Yejo in stead of ?ij?ngbu.
In 1428, ?iryesangj?ngso had a duty of codification and device of ?irye, again. And ?iryesangj?ngso became institution of legislation. Members of ?iryesangj?ngso were increased, and they were free from themselves's official post. This system made them concentrate their job far from political situation. It's good merit because official post was too instable, rapidly moved. Due to stability and experts of ?iryesangj?ngso, King Sejong could accomplish his task, the law codificatin.
But system of ?iryesangj?ngso was beyond order of official system. And it encroched other official parts, for example, Yukjo(六曹), S?ngmunwon(承文院), ?ij?ngbu. At last King Sejong abolished ?iryesangj?ngso in 1435.
