This paper purposes to explore the relationship between the two sides: grammatical accuracy and its relevance to communication skills. Claiming that the understanding of noun phrasal use is mutatis mutandis helpful to communication skill, we look into the whole constructions of highschool textbooks regarding noun phrasal dislocations. This paper leads off with the assumption that a heavy propensity towards a side will never bring about a desirable environment for English teaching. Controversy has flared up over whether or not grammar learning is useful. However, many people, within and without school, direct their attention to the acquisition of communication skills, not concerning themselves with the accuracy of English both in speaking and in writing, as if to regard communication skills as a silverbullet for the problem with English. The imbalance among English skills is the work that we educators should redress. Grammar learning and communication skills are not a dichotomy nor an eclectic issue, but they should conspire to develop English better. We thereon provide a proper rationale for studying grammar and speaking together.
